Alumni Council Members
Douglas E. Bachtel BA 77 graduated AU with majors in Business and Religion. While at AU he was in SGA, on the golf team, and was a member of the first pledge class of Agathos. After graduation he and his wife Terri moved to San Diego where he worked in youth ministry before returning to Indiana for Doug’s MBA at IU Bloomington. Lately he’s a marketing consultant, nonprofit capacity builder and ministry incubator, while continuing his ministry with young people. He's excited about encouraging other alums to reconnect and make their AU experience even better as the years go by. Doug and Terri live in Olathe, Kansas and have two daughters about to leave the nest - Anna is a recent graduate of MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, and Alison is a nursing student at AU who will graduate in 2011.
Katie Marsh Blackburn graduated from AU in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in mass communications. She earned a master's degree in public relations from Ball State University in 2004 and currently is pursuing a webmaster certification through Florida State University. Katie has focused much of her career in corporate communications, though she now works part-time for a digital marketing firm in Cincinnati, Ohio where she resides with her husband Scott (BA '99) and their two sons, Griffin and Cooper. Of her time on the Alumni Council, Katie says, "I'm passionate about connecting local AU alumni, as well as championing AU to prospective students and their families. As a member of Alumni Council, I'd like to help not only bring alumni to AU, but also bring as much of AU to them as I can."
Steve Davis BA 01 is the General Counsel of IMMI, headquartered in Westfield, Ind. Steve has responsibility for all legal matters at the privately held occupant restraint manufacturing company. Steve grew up in Muncie, Indiana and graduated from AU, in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing. In 2004, he obtained a juris doctorate from Indiana University School of Law, Bloomington. Prior to joining IMMI, Steve practiced in the Corporate Mergers and Acquisitions group at the law firm Ice Miller, LLP in Indianapolis. Steve is a member of the Christian Legal Society and the Association of Corporate Counsel. Steve and his wife, Sara, have two sons, Bryant and Benson. They attend Genesis Church in Noblesville, where Steve serves as an Elder.
Marv Hills BA 81 graduate and a resident of Mishawaka, Indiana. He is Executive-In-Charge of the Private Client Services Group in the Tax Services department at Crowe Horwath, where he has worked since 1981. He has two sons and one daughter; among the three of them are an AU graduate, a current AU student, and an incoming AU student!
Judy Hughes is a 1978 grad with a BA in Broadcasting and a minor in Social work. While at AU she was involved in Student Activities as a Sad Sac, an Alpha Psi Omega member, a Student Government (SGA) representative and a member of Adelpha Philos. Judy has also pursued graduate classes at Anderson University School of Theology. She has served the church locally and state wide as a Pastor and Speaker; nationally, at Church of God Ministries, and internationally as a Missionary to Australia. She believes in AU and served for 5 years on the AU Board of Trustees. Judy and her husband Malcolm of 34 years have two children. Amy and her husband Jamie live in Centerville, OH and have one 7 year old daughter, Maya Katherine. (Judy loves being a grandma!) Their son Michael and his wife Mary live outside of Birmingham, Alabama.
Sarah Noble BA 98, majored in English with a minor in Writing. During her time at AU, Sarah was active in the Anderson University Student Association, Camarada, and Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society. After graduation from AU, Sarah received her MA in English from the University of Kentucky and also graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law. Sarah practiced civil litigation before going to work for United Way of the Bluegrass as Director of Investor Relations. Sarah and her husband, David (BA ’01), live in Lexington, Kentucky, with their daughter, Annie.
Kyle Schroeder BA 10 graduated through Anderson University via the Falls School of Business as a management major (entrepreneurship concentration) and marketing minor. While at AU, Kyle was heavily involved in resident life as a resident assistance for two years in Smith Hall. Additionally, Kyle was President & CEO of Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) on campus where he lead a team of students through community-focused projects to teach business principles within the surrounding community. Kyle and his wife Laura (Burgher, BA '09) now live in Indianapolis and are active members at LifePoint church. Kyle is in partnerships/sales at ExactTarget while Laura is now a learning designer at Bottom Line Performance following several years as a middle school language arts teacher.
Leslie Stevenson BA 04 is an alumna who received her degree in mass communication. As a student, Leslie was involved as a founder of the student campus prayer ministry, a resident assistant, a committee chair for student government association and writer for the literary arts magazine, Echoes and the Andersonian. Leslie then used her specialization in public relations to work on staff in multicultural student services at AU. Presently, Leslie is earning her master of science in the Executive Human Resource Development Program at Xavier University—Cincinnati, Ohio. She also serves in the AmeriCorps VISTA program as a volunteer coordinator supporting a non-profit organization whose vision is to create access to affordable fresh food in an urban neighborhood. Her goal while serving on the council is to help build upon the framework for local alumni chapters to flourish across the nation and around the world.
Dan Stichter BA '09 graduated from the Falls School of Business as an accounting major. During his time at AU, he was involved in Student Life as a Smith Hall RA and was Head Manager of the student coffee shop, Mocha Joe’s. In his free time, Dan could be found winning intramural sports championships, concocting business ideas, organizing board game nights, and playing Frisbee golf around campus. Upon graduation, Dan began work as a staff auditor with the international accounting firm Deloitte & Touche. He and his wife Emily currently reside in Carmel, Ind. but return to Anderson each week to attend Eastside Church of God and often stop at Real Hacienda for lunch. Dan still enjoys being a part of the Anderson University community by playing softball for the School of Theology, collaborating with the Falls School of Business, and volunteering as a recent graduate at recruiting events around campus. As a member of the alumni council he hopes to encourage other young alumni to maintain their active involvement with AU in an effort foster the continued development of our alma mater and spread the Kingdom of God.
Suzanna R. Rojas Thompson BA 98 majored in English and minored in French and Spanish. During her time as a student, she served three years as a resident assistant and was a member of Alpha Mu Gamma, Eniteo, Mu Kappa, and Sigma Tau Delta. After graduation, Suzanna worked as staff writer for the AU Publications Office, resident director at Huntington College, and production editor for Frommer's and Dummies travel guides at Wiley Publishing. She, her husband Ted, and their four children reside in Fishers, Indiana. Suzanna is the daughter of Nehiel Rojas MDiv '79 and his wife Joanna, formerly Church of God missionaries to Peru and Uruguay.
Reverend William A. White
O. Dale Williams BA 58, M.Div 62: Dale is a 1958 graduate of Anderson University and a 1962 graduate of the Anderson School of Theology. Over the years he has pastored Church of God congregations in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Indiana; most recently, he served on staff at First United Methodist Church in Auburn, Indiana. Dale has two sons who are both AU alumni.
