Orangehaus Records creates new booking agency

One of the greatest obstacles faced by young musicians is finding representation. Even the most talented artists cannot advance their careers without a steady fan base and venues that allow them to perform. Because of this, Anderson University’s Orangehaus Records recently expanded to include a booking agency called Orangehaus Entertainment. This development provides new opportunities in promotion and booking for independent artists.

AU prof to use multilingual skills for medical interpretation

Inge Baird, assistant professor of German and Spanish at Anderson University, recently found a new way to exercise her multilingual talents. Fluent in German, Portuguese, and Spanish, Baird was interested in finding ways to interpret outside of the classroom. She discovered Bridging the Gap, a cross-cultural healthcare program. In one week, Baird completed the course and received a certification in medical interpreting.

AU theatre alumna attends grad school in London

Applied theatre is community theatre with a focus on drama education. That means taking theatre out of the conventional theatre space and into prisons, homeless shelters, nursing homes, and schools. Anderson University alumna Alicia Bush, a 2009 graduate, recently brought what she learned from AU to London, where she is enrolled in an MA program in applied theatre.

AU supports student's vision for science education in Uganda

As diverse as Anderson University students may be, one thing many have in common is a life-changing overseas experience. Sophomore biology major Joshua Smith recently went on an international mission trip to Uganda with his church. Although the trip was not through an AU program, the university made a substantial contribution by donating science equipment and by encouraging students to embrace lives of service.

Alumni Office partners with Harris Connect on directory project

The Office of Alumni Relations is pleased to announce it will publish a new print alumni directory, Anderson University Alumni Today: 2012, scheduled for release mid-year. The directory will be the most complete, up-to-date print reference on more than 20,000 alumni worldwide. In addition, it will include photos and personal notes submitted by alumni.
