Adam Foundation present Frederic Chiu
Sun., Feb. 24, 2013
4 p.m. at York Performance Hall
The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance at Anderson University partners with the Adams Foundation to present internationally acclaimed American concert pianist Frederic Chiu in a solo piano recital on Sunday, Feb. 24, at 4 p.m. in the York Performance Hall on the Anderson University campus.
A frequent guest artist at concert venues throughout Europe, South America, and the United States, Frederic Chiu is devoted to enhancing the live concert experience for diverse audiences by combining classical music with audience participation. His program is titled Classical Smackdown and will answer the question, “Who would win if French Impressionist composer Claude Debussy were to go head to head with Russian early modernist Sergei Profofiev?” The repertoire will include Debussy’s Suite Bergamasque, Reverie, and L’isle Joyeuse and Prokofiev’s Sonata No. 3 in F minor and Toccata (1933). While Chiu will interpret the pieces, the audience will determine the winning composer of each round.
Tickets are $10 for adult, $5 for students, children 12 and under free when accompanied by an adult. For ticket information, contact Beth Doub at (765) 641-4543, toll-free (800) 619-3047, or badoub@anderson.edu.
