Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science offers four standard majors — computer science, computer science-mathematics, computational physics, and information systems. For students wishing to add a computing option to an existing major, two complementary majors are offered — business-information systems and computer science. Students majoring in computer science are urged to complete additional coursework in mathematics, accounting, business administration, physics, or related areas.

Facilities and Platform

The Computer Science Department at Anderson University offers state-of-the-art equipment and software on campus and connections to top companies in the industry off campus. The department’s facilities include two classroom labs and one special projects lab.

Computer science coursework is done using Windows 7, Linux, Mac OS X, SQL Server, Oracle, .NET and Java. UML is integrated throughout the curriculum.

Hands-on Experience

There are numerous jobs available for computer science students at AU, including working in the computer science laboratories and assisting other departments, such as the university library, administrative computing, and microcomputer support offices. Internship programs allows students to earn credits toward graduation while gaining experience in the workplace.
