Financial Aid: AU SOT Scholarships or Loans

The School of Theology works diligently to help make a seminary education affordable. Nearly all admitted and registered students receive direct scholarships from the School of Theology.  Scholarships are awarded based on total number of registered class hours per semester.

While most students will receive some scholarship assistance, many seminary students meet a portion of their educational and living expenses through personal part-time employment in a church or other work secured within the local community, savings, employment of a spouse, or assistance from their home congregation.  On average, our students work 20 hours per week to help meet their financial obligations.

Direct Federal Student Loans

Some students choose to utilize federal direct loans.  All applications for direct student loans and/or loan deferments are processed by the Anderson University Office of Student Financial Services. Questions concerning direct student loans should be addressed to Mrs. Nelda Ely, Graduate Student Counselor.

Students needing financial assistance beyond AU SOT scholarships must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  The school code is 001785.

International Students must meet the requirements of admission and be an accepted student before any scholarship awards are determined. International students should carefully read the Admissions Requirements for Students Educated Outside of the United States for additional information.

Financial aid will not be awarded to students with "incompletes" remaining on their records four months after the final day of an academic term.

The School of Theology does not coordinate direct student loans.
