Michelle Williams, Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Multicultural Student Services
Rev. Michelle Williams is the Assistant Dean of Students & Director of Multicultural Student Services at Anderson University. In this capacity, she serves as an administrative advocate, major support system, and link for students of color. Michelle oversees the Cultural Resource Center, which provides campus-wide programming & education on issues of Diversity and Cultural Awareness. As Assistant Dean, Michelle serves on the Department of Student Life leadership team. She also serves as adviser for Student Government Association and oversees all student organizations (this includes interest and social clubs).
Michelle earned her BA in Psychology from Wright State University. She attended graduate school at Oral Roberts University and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Divinity from Anderson University School of Theology.
Michelle began her career in social services working in program management and coordination at various non-profit agencies. As a social worker for 10 years Michelle worked with At-risk youth, facilitated family life skill groups, managed several mentoring programs and served as a community resource for ex-offenders re-entering society.
As an ordained minister, Michelle served as a youth pastor for 3 years in Tulsa, Oklahoma and as an associate pastor for 3 years at Family Fellowship Bible church.
Her professional interests include advocacy for marginalized people groups, intercultural competency training & staff development, & policy/procedure implementation.
Michelle lives in Anderson and has served at Anderson University since 2008.
