Two Anderson University alumni have been named to Indianapolis Business Journal's Forty Under 40 for 2013. Alumni Ben Gale BA '01 and Michele Jackson BA '97 were named to the annual list that honors business and professional leaders who have achieved success and excelled in their field before the age of 40.
Gale is vice president of Sinewave Audio, Inc., a company that provides audio and video equipment and theatrical lighting, as well as personnel to operate the equipment. Gale also serves as president of the Anderson Community School Corp. Board of Trustees and is a member of Community Hospital Anderson's finance committee.
"When I first learned that I received this honor, I began to think about all of the individuals that have been a part of my successes," said Gale. "All of my accomplishments have been team efforts. To me, this is not just recognition of my hard work and success, but also recognition of those who have worked with me and helped achieve our shared goals.
"The faculty at AU challenged me to always keep the greater goal in mind instead of focusing on personal reward. AU also offered many opportunities for me to gain experience in leadership roles."
"It is nice to be recognized for a job I love so much," said Jackson. "It reminds me to recognize others as well for all their hard work, support of me and their commitment to finding homes for orphans. I am truly blessed by my job and those I work with at MLJ Adoptions and Harden Jackson.
"Anderson University gave me opportunities to gain confidence and independence. I traveled with Tri-S and in my major and work in the political science department. These experiences helped me see people making a difference in others' lives even if they were halfway across the world. I am fortunate that AU teaches you an appreciation, a vision, and a love for God's global community."
