Joy Kang, an Anderson University junior, watched her parents serve as missionaries in various communities while growing up. She was inspired by their work and wanted to do something similar.
Kang was born in South Korea but moved with her parents to Thailand and lived there for 12 years. When it came time to choose a college, she began her search for Christian schools in the United States. “I started looking up Christian colleges that provide scholarships to missionary kids,” said Kang.
Anderson University's Student Government Association (SGA) recently hosted a forum for students to ask questions about the current prioritization. Dr. Brent Baker, vice president for student affairs, and Dr. Marie Morris, provost, were present to answer questions and give background to the decisions made.
Anderson University’s School of Music, Theatre, and Dance is gearing up to host world-class concert pianist Joseph Kalichstein. At 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov, 10, at 4:00 p.m, the school’s partnership with the Adams Foundation will come to fruition with a solo recital at York Performance Hall on the AU campus.
The Anderson University Board of Trustees recently approved a series of management recommendations resulting from a process of program review and prioritization. Plans called for faculty and staff reductions, reorganization of selected departments and programs, and reallocations of resources for targeted personnel and programmatic enhancements.
Dr. James L. Edwards, president of Anderson University, recently announced the appointment of Dr. James Lewis to serve as the next dean of the Anderson University School of Theology, beginning July 1, 2014. Lewis will succeed Dr. David Sebastian upon his retirement. Sebastian has served as dean of the School of Theology since 1995.
The Anderson University School of Music, Theatre, and Dance will present the annual "Candles and Carols" Christmas concert on Friday, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in Reardon Auditorium on the campus of Anderson University. The annual “Candles and Carols” Christmas program revives many memories for those who attend each year.

In light of challenges facing all of higher education, the Anderson University Board of Trustees recently affirmed an initial strategy to ensure the financial strength of the university and the quality of its academic programs. Adjustments to education delivery and administrative operations are being implemented to solidify Anderson University’s position of financial strength, enhance and align its guiding mission, and continue the delivery of an excellent education to students studying for a life of faith to the church and society.
