Four Anderson University students were recently selected as finalists in the Shure Fantastic Scholastic Recording Competition. Each year, Shure selects 10 schools at random to compete for $15,000 worth of Shure microphones. This year, music business majors Josh Sadlon, Caleb Schoberg, and Clark Wright, along with marketing major Jordan Poortenga, were selected to represent AU in the competition.
Orangehaus Records is not a typical record label. It is staffed and run by Anderson University students with faculty overseeing the process, giving students the opportunity to dip their toes in the music business industry. Currently, Orangehaus Records is using social media uniquely to interact with their audience of AU students.
Anderson University is not only a popular place during the school year. More and more of our academic departments are bringing students — high school age to working professionals — onto campus for summer workshops and camps. This year, the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance celebrates its 10th year of hosting Orff Shulwerk workshops for music educators from across the country.
