Every year, more than 50,000 students across the United States turn in applications for admission to law school. Over the past 10 years, only 66 percent of all applicants to ABA-approved law schools were admitted, according to data from the Law School Admission Council.
Andi Ley, an Anderson University 2013 graduate, landed her dream job as the community liaison for Madison County with the Children’s Bureau. One month after graduation, Ley began working with the Community Partners for Child Safety to help families become better connected with their community and the resources within. Ley’s journey to her dream job began at AU as a social work major.
Anderson University professor of marketing Dr. Michael Wiese is focusing on meaningful work in his second book, "Work that Matters: Bridging the Divide between Work and Worship". The book is co-authored by Wiese, director of undergraduate studies for the Falls School of Business, and Asbury University’s Dr.
Kyle Kleppinger, an Anderson University senior athletic training major, will be adding professional exposure to his athletic training experience by interning with the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts this summer.
Kleppinger will work with world-renowned athletes, such as Andrew Luck and Reggie Wayne, as one of eight interns hired by the Colts. Kleppinger underwent a long waiting process after his application in September, but it paid off in full later in the year.
Caring for a patient requires more than just meeting their physical needs. This summer, Gracie Winkler, a junior nursing major at Anderson University, has the opportunity to express this type of care through an internship at the Mayo Clinic.
The Mayo Clinic is a nonprofit medical practice and research group based out of Rochester, Minn. It accepts 50 interns into its internship program. This year Winkler was chosen out of 800 applicants.
It’s a good day when a senior gets a job. It’s a great day when three seniors from the same program get jobs working together after graduation.
Josh Compton, Lauren Fiscus, and Hannah Samples are proof of that. These three senior accounting majors have accepted positions at EY, one of the four biggest and well-known accounting firms in the world. All three students will begin their journey with EY in July.
Student United Way (SUW), a student interest club at Anderson University, delivered warm clothing and meals to the homeless in downtown Indianapolis on Nov. 23.
SUW, coordinated by United Way of Madison County, completes service projects each year throughout the central Indiana region. One of their projects during the 2013-2014 school year involved a partnership with Tear Down the Walls (TDW), a homeless outreach program in Indianapolis.
