Anderson University Board of Trustees member, the Honorable Dennis D. Carroll, is retiring as judge of Madison Circuit Court Division 6 after 35 years of distinguished service. On Thursday, June 18, a come-and-go reception will be held in the Reardon Auditorium Lobby from 4 – 6 p.m. with brief moments of recognition at approximately 5 p.m.
The Colts will return to Anderson for the sixth consecutive year after the team originally spent their summers at the university from its inaugural season in 1984 to 1998. Following training camp, the Colts will return to the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center in Indianapolis.
Walk a Mile in My Shoes is a one-mile walk to raise awareness of homelessness in the Anderson community. The walk began at Anderson University’s Kardatzke Wellness Center and ended at The Christian Center, a local Anderson shelter, which has an ongoing relationship with AU students.
Last February, 250 walkers participated in the sponsored event in order to raise funds for the men’s shelter, the kitchen, and the resource center at The Christian Center.
Students take numerous classes in their time at Anderson University. While they will learn a lot from those classes, they may be unclear about the basic skills they may need for life -- like how to fill out a W2 form or how to invest in a 401K.
As a way to help prepare these young graduates, AU alumni relations offered four “Life After AU” sessions that each focused on a different topic.
The Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and Anderson University have entered into a partnership to create the “Anderson University Law Scholar” program. It’s an opportunity for an Anderson student to follow the same educational path as Anderson University’s president and IU McKinney’s alumnus, John S. Pistole, who graduated from IU McKinney in 1981.
Anderson University has announced the hiring of Lindsay Shade as the new head women’s basketball coach. Shade replaces Marcie Taylor who served as head women’s basketball coach for 25 years. Taylor will continue in her role as full-time Athletic Director. Shade brings to Anderson over ten years of collegiate coaching experience. For the past two seasons, Shade served as assistant coach at Taylor University where she was the defensive coordinator and scouting manager.
