The Indianapolis Colts will hold training camp at Anderson University for the fourth consecutive year this summer. Dates for the camp will be announced by the Indianapolis Colts.
Tens of thousands of fans attended the 2012 training camp, with opportunities to watch practices at AU's Macholtz Stadium, and family activities available through the popular Colts City.
Anderson University is home to experts within a wide range of fields. Among these esteemed educators are Dr. John Millis, assistant professor of physics, and Dr. Donald Boggs, professor of communication arts and general manager of Covenant Productions® and WQME.
The Anderson University softball team has done it both ways and neither is easy.
The Ravens have been to the NCAA Division III softball tournament the past two seasons and today they will try to break into that elite field again. In 2011, AU won the tournament that was played at Transylvania, the regular season champs a year ago.
“Any freshmen here?”
U.S. Rep. Susan W. Brooks waited and few hands went up among the crowd of thirty-or-so suit-clad Anderson University students.
“Okay,” she said, “Me too.”
After 49 years as a professor of psychology, Dr. William Farmen is saying goodbye to Anderson University. As a graduate of AU, Farmen put almost half a century of time and energy back into the university where his love and interests were born.
“I personally have learned something new every week for the last 35 years from him,” said Dr. Lee Griffith, professor of psychology. “I owe him a tremendous personal debt and will miss all our stimulating conversations.”
More than 40 Anderson University undergraduate students presented research during the 4th annual AU Scholars' Day on April 30. The event featured poster presentations from a wide range of academic disciplines at AU.
“My time at Anderson University has been a very fulfilling experience,” said Dr. Fred Shively, professor of religion and a 1961 graduate of AU. “I love to teach, and it has been a big joy in my life. I am excited to see how God will use me next, but I will miss the reward of getting to work closely with such great group of students.”
The growing world of sports marketing has become a hot topic for business students across the country, according to Deidra Colvin, assistant professor of marketing in the Falls School of Business at Anderson University. But finding a sports marketing program is not always easy for prospective students.
Anderson University will offer a live webcast during commencement on Saturday, May 11. Coverage will begin at 3 p.m. EDT.
The webcast will feature the entire commencement program, including an address to graduates from Emmy award-winning Indianapolis television news anchor Andrea Morehead. During commencement AU will award honorary degrees to Morehead and longtime Anderson physician Dr. Robert McCurdy.
Anderson University is looking ahead to a full slate of classes offered this summer for interested students. AU will offer more than 290 classes that provide flexibility and variety. Sessions provide both introductory and advanced courses on campus for specific majors and enrichment purposes. Classes began May 13 and end August 23.
