A trend of rising attendances at colleges throughout the state of Indiana also holds true for Anderson University.
According to early figures, AU has about the same number of students for the 2011-12 school year than it did at this time last year. However, AU’s freshman class has grown by about five percent, a sign of overall growth for the future.
With almost one year under his belt, the Director of the Transportation Security Administration John Pistole, an Anderson University graduate of 1978, said he has enjoyed a smooth transition from his previous job with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
To some the wagon wheel symbolizes the Wild West and the battles that ensued in American folklore, but for the Anderson University Ravens football team it indicates the beginning of the battles on the football field.
Anderson University will host the third annual Elizabeth York Children’s Literature Festival on Saturday, Sept. 24, in Nicholson Library. The all-day event (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) is free and open to the public.

Pam Worlund’s face lit up when she arrived at Anderson University on Thursday morning to move her daughter into the dorms.
A dozen helping hands surrounded her family’s sport utility vehicle and instructed Pam to wait in the grass as they unloaded the vehicle.
“They told us they would move everything in,” Pam, from St. Louis, said. “My husband and I have back issues, so this is wonderful.”
Walking across campus at night and all alone doesn’t worry Jessica Kinard.
The Anderson University senior said she feels nothing but secure when on campus.
“I feel safe,” she said. “Definitely a lot safer than I have felt walking on other campuses that I have been to.”
Anderson University unveiled a new logo and matching web designs today during the opening faculty and staff session to celebrate the beginning of a new academic year. This is the first major redesign of the logo since 1994. In addition, the university unveiled a new communication strategy to distinguish Anderson University through a variety of media—such as billboard and television commercials—that will be available in the fall.
Many courses offered at Anderson University are designed specifically to prepare students for entering careers after graduation. These courses often provide students with opportunities to work outside the normal classroom setting and gain experience working with actual clients. One of those standout courses is Integrated Marketing Communications II taught by Deidra Colvin, assistant professor of marketing at the Falls School of Business.
