AU students to participate in new Madison County Chamber program

A new Madison County Chamber program will provide students the opportunity to get a head start in their career by connecting them with business leaders while they’re still in college.

AT&T presented the Madison County Chamber with a $5,000 contribution Wednesday afternoon to kick off a new program called Student to Pro that will get students from Anderson University, Harrison College, the Purdue University College of Technology, and Ivy Tech Community College involved with the chamber.

Candles and Carols preps AU students for broadcast careers

Dressed in all black, Anderson University junior Collin Rudkin will try his hardest to blend in with the stage during Friday evening’s annual “Candles and Carols” concert.

The communications major from Casper, Wyo., will shoot footage on stage from a hand-carried camera weighing just shy of 20 pounds during the production. His goal — to get the right shot by remaining invisible.

AU plans memorial service for junior Shey Harris

The Anderson University community is deeply saddened by the death of junior dance business major Shey Harris. Harris was killed in a small plane crash that occurred on the morning of Saturday, November 26, along with her father, sister, and one other person. Harris was from Marion, Ind. The university is planning a special memorial service in Shey's memory on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m. in Reardon Auditorium on the Anderson University campus.

Former AU baseball coach Don Brandon traveling to Africa

Former Anderson University baseball coach Don Brandon once told his players that if they weren’t passionate about the game, he would be on their backs like a mongoose on a cobra. After coaching for 38 years at AU, Brandon's legacy runs deeper than baseball. His passion and love for the game are trumped only by his love for people. “Obviously I love people,” said Brandon.

All eyes locked on her as she slowly made her way to the front of a sea of unfamiliar faces, of people who were going to judge her on something she had never attempted before. However, nerves did not overcome Dr. Rebecca Chappell, director of music business studies in the School of Music at Anderson University, as she skillfully taught her lesson and received exceptional critiques from her judges.

Art+Design senior exhibition opens Saturday

Anderson University seniors Morgan Clipner, Christopher Gray, and Kelcey Rudynski will display their work during the Senior Art+Design Exhibition in the Jessie C. Wilson Galleries on AU’s campus. The show opens Saturday, Nov. 19, from 2 - 5 p.m. and will be open for viewing Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. through December 16. A gallery talk-back session will be held Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 6 p.m.
