The Anderson University Athletic department will induct four former student-athletes into the Class of 2010 Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, Oct. 2, at the annual dinner in the Kardatzke Wellness Center at 6:30 p.m.
The 2010 class includes Dr. Don Brandon, Dave Coolidge, Thomas Lee and Susan (Berry) McVay.
The School of Adult Learning (SOAL) at Anderson University unveiled a new dynamic website Wednesday, Sept. 8. The new site, www.anderson.edu/soal, offers the first design unique to SOAL students who want to learn more about their options as adult education students and to quickly find information in one place.
Anderson University Professor of History Dr. David Murphy will kick off the Nicholson Library's fall Brown Bag Lunch Series Wednesday, Sept. 15, with a discussion of his recently published book Murder in their Hearts: The Fall Creek Massacre.
Anderson University will honor several distinguished alumni during the Homecoming chapel/convocation on Thursday, Sept. 30, at 10 a.m. in Reardon Auditorium. Persons being honored include Dan Hamer (Distinguished Alumni Award); Kyle Lacy (Distinguished Young Alumni Award); Pat Griffin (Distinguished Service Award); Sandi Patty (John H. Kane Loyalty Award); Shelby Rhoades (Outstanding Music Award); and Katelyn McKaig (Alumni Council Scholarship).
American Public Television Worldwide (APT), a leading provider of programming to public television stations nationwide networks and television stations worldwide, has confirmed that the new Robert F. Kennedy documentary, “A Ripple of Hope” (1×60) will be distributed to broadcast television networks companies in Australia, Italy and Catalonia (Spain).
Anderson University will host the second annual Elizabeth York Children’s Literature Festival on Saturday, Sept. 25, in Nicholson Library. The all-day event (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) is free and open to the public.
Anderson University welcomes alumni, family and friends back for fun and fellowship during Homecoming 2010, titled "Together Again" Oct. 1-2. Along with the annual homecoming football game and introduction of the homecoming king, queen and court, there will also be opportunities to enjoy the RavenFest, the new Reunion Park, and a theatrical production entitled "Children of Eden."
The Department of Art and Design at Anderson University will kick-off the semester with an opening reception on Saturday, Sept. 4, from 3-5 p.m. for Sarah Jantzi: Drawings and the Foundations Exhibition in the Jessie C. Wilson Gallery in the Krannert Fine Arts Center. The fall semester will feature monthly exhibitions which will showcase guest artists, students and alumni.
Anderson University recently partnered with Higher One, the technology and payment services company, to electronically distribute Financial Aid and other refund disbursements to students through the Easy Refund Card. The program was launched in July.
Just two weeks ago, the Anderson University campus was home to Peyton Manning and his Indianapolis Colts. This week, the university’s true residents returned, reclaiming the campus as the 2010-11 school year kicked off.
