A short film edited by Anderson University alum Chris Witt, BA 2003, recently received a gold medal prize in the 36th annual Student Academy Awards for "Kavi," a short film about an Indian boy forced to work. "Kavi" was directed by Gregg Helvey of the University of Southern California as his USC graduate thesis film. The film is qualified for the 2010 Academy Awards - Short Film Competition.

What was once an idea for several years is now a reality: the Falls School of Business will host its first Summer Entrepreneurship Camp.
The fact that she is a published author has not yet sunk in for Daria Barwinska, a 2009 Anderson University graduate. Yet here she is, a native of Poland, holding a book she wrote in English based on a trip she took to Kenya, a trip she never would have taken had she not discovered Anderson University while researching colleges online.
Since 1983, Pat Griffin has worked in the education field of nursing. Starting as a part time clinical instructor at AU, Griffin had previously worked in Anderson at St. John’s in critical care, at Riley Children’s Hospital, and at Community East, both in Indianapolis. After her husband Gerry was relocated to Anderson, the couple moved to the Pendleton area with Griffin first learning about Anderson University.
Bible and Religion major Kayla N. Robinson, a senior this fall, has been selected to receive a 2009 Fund for Theological Education (FTE) Undergraduate Fellowship. FTE Undergraduate Fellowships recognize students who have gifts for leadership and are exploring the possibility of ministry as a vocation. As an FTE Undergraduate Fellow, Robinson will receive $2,000 for tuition, other educational expenses or a self-designed experience related to the exploration of ministry.
Anderson University will host a Holocaust education workshop on Thursday, June 11, for Indiana high school and middle school teachers. The event is designed to provide teachers with a foundation in Holocaust content and methods that will enable them to develop and implement Holocaust units that are both historically accurate and appropriate for the middle and high school classroom.
AU alum Lou Gerig will be inducted with six new members into The Indiana Academy at its annual dinner and symposium on Monday, June 1, 2009, in Indianapolis. This year’s honorees, the thirty-ninth group so selected, will be recognized by the Independent Colleges of Indiana for their lifetime of achievement and contributions to the cultural, scientific, literary, civic, religious, and educational development of Indiana.

Perfect, since the farm he now helps run uses none of those modern conveniences.
Steve May, food service director & chef of Anderson dining services, can say he definitely veered off the path from stock broker to food service along his unusual career route.
May originally obtained a degree in finance and marketing. He admits he didn’t get into fine dining the normal way, although crunching numbers may have helped with the business aspect of food service.
