Anderson University grads receive Teacher of the Year honors

Two Anderson University graduates have received the 2009 Teacher of the Year award in their districts.

Janet (Short) Mora, a 1983 Anderson University grad and 26-year teaching veteran, was named Elementary Teacher of the Year in the McAllen (Texas) Independent School District, and Jonathan Kline, a 2007 AU grad, was named Teacher of the Year in the Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township in Indianapolis.

AU DBA Grad Earns Top Score on Global CMA Test

It is not often that someone can say they are the best in the world, but for Falls School of Business DBA graduate Larry Sayler, that is the perfect description. Sayler recently completed the Certified Managerial Accounting (CMA) test with the highest score in for the Spring 2009 test cycle, beating out over 4,000 other participants worldwide. With over 65% of test candidates coming from outside the US, Sayler’s accomplishment is truly a global achievement.

AU campus celebrates Constitution Day

A special event celebrating the U.S. Constitution will be conducted at Anderson University on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 3:30 p.m. in the lobby of Reardon Auditorium. During this event, Richard M. Gamble, the Anna Margaret Ross Alexander Professor of History and Political Science and Associate Professor of History at Hillsdale College, will be speaking. The event is free and open to the public.

AU professor's one-man play about C.S. Lewis

For those who know author C.S. Lewis simply as the guy who wrote "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," or the guy Anthony Hopkins played in "Shadowlands," Kevin Radaker can fill in the blanks.

The Anderson University Professor of English and Department Chair will appear Thursday in his own one-man play, "A Visit From C.S. Lewis," in Reardon Auditorium lobby.

AU senior interns for National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency

Kristina Unis, senior history major at AU, completed an internship this summer at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency in Washington, D.C. "I worked with the Historian, Archivist, and Curator, working with historical objects and archival documents that pertain to the history and operations of the agency," she said.

Falls School of Business at AU launches new Web site

The Falls School of Business (FSB) at Anderson University unveiled a new dynamic Web site today, Tuesday, Sept. 1. The new site, www.anderson.edu/falls, offers a distinctive new design that is easier to navigate while providing informative features on a variety of areas such as the undergraduate, MBA, and DBA programs along with new areas for current and prospective students, admissions, parents, and alumni.

AU students volunteer to beautify Anderson

Anderson University freshman Nicole Shenefield wanted to say "thank you" in advance to the city she will call home for the next four years.

Shenefield, along with about 500 other students new to AU, worked Saturday morning to beautify the city, picking up trash, weeding, mowing, painting and doing other odd jobs as part of the second annual day of service partnership between AU and the city.

Nemo had survived the 2,200-mile trip from Arizona, but Anderson University freshman David Cox was worried that the shock of transferring the beta fish into its new tank in the AU dorm might kill the blue and red beta. With his things unpacked and set up in his new home, Nemo was one of the last first-day-on-campus tasks Cox had yet to complete.
