Lilly Endowment gives $375,000 to Anderson University
Anderson University will receive $375,000 from Indianapolis-based Lilly Endowment Inc., for a sustaining proposal to provide students more opportunities and incentives to keep them in Indiana upon graduation. Anderson University will welcome Dr. Walter Kaiser, the Colman M. Mockler distinguished Professor of Old Testament and President Emeritus of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Mass. for the 2008 Newell Lecture, Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. Dr. Kaiser served as president of Gordon-Conwell from 1997-2006.
The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) is granting $328,754 to help 14 Indiana communities keep plastic, paper, aluminum and other recyclables out of landfills. Anderson University received $25,000 to convert itself into a more recycling-friendly campus, with plans to use the funds to purchase recycling trailers, bins and totes, and a campaign to inform students and faculty about the new recycling opportunities on campus.
A Ripple of Hope, a documentary film created by Covenant Productions® at Anderson University, has been named as an official selection in both the New Orleans Film Festival (October 10-16) and the Heartland Film Festival based in Indianapolis (October 16-24).
