Amber Reed

Dr. Amber Reed is presently an Associate Professor in the School of Education at Anderson University, where she specializes in the areas of Early Childhood, Elementary Education, and Literacy.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, she took advantage of opportunities to teach preschool-intermediate grades in a variety of settings including public and private schools, migrant programs, and international venues.  After completing her Master of Science degree in Elementary Education and accepting an administration position as Curriculum Director, she taught as a full-time lecturer for five years at Indiana University Kokomo.  In 2007, Amber was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Literacy Education and Early/Elementary Childhood Studies from Indiana University, at which time she joined the faculty at IU Kokomo serving as an Assistant Professor for four years.

Dr. Reed joined the SOE faculty at Anderson University in 2011 to develop and coordinate the Early Childhood Education Program.  The Early Childhood Education Program is a NAEYC Recognized Program.

Her main research and professional interests are in the areas of Critical Literacy, Service Learning, University/Community Partnerships, and Curriculum Development.

Amber Reed has been at Anderson University since 2011.
