Alumni presented for ratification to council
The Anderson University Alumni Council presents four alumni to be considered for ratification to the council beginning with the spring 2008 session. These nominees will represent the Anderson University Alumni Association and will serve a three-year term, renewable for no more than one additional term.
Suzanna R. Rojas Thompson BA ’98 majored in English and minored in French and Spanish. During her time as a student, she served three years as a resident assistant, and was a member of Eniteo, Mu Kappa (missionary kid society), Alpha Mu Gamma (foreign language honor society), and Sigma Tau Delta (English honor society). After graduation, Suzanna worked first as staff writer for the AU Publications Office (which publishes Signatures), and then as a resident director at Huntington College. Currently, she works at Wiley Publishing as a production editor for Frommer’s and Dummies travel guides, and moonlights as a freelance copy editor and translator. She and her husband, Ted, attend Madison Park Church of God in Anderson and reside in Fishers, Ind. Suzanna is the daughter of Nehiel Rojas MDiv ’78 and his wife, Joanna, formerly Church of God missionaries to Peru and Uruguay.
Judy A. Hughes is a 1978 alumna with a BA in broadcasting and has pursued graduate classes at Anderson University School of Theology. She is currently the children and family ministries pastor at Dayspring Church of God in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has served the church locally and statewide as a pastor and speaker; nationally, at Church of God Ministries; and internationally, as a missionary to Australia. She believes in AU and served for five years on the board of trustees. Judy and Malcolm, her husband of 30 years, have two children. Amy and her husband, Jamie, live nearby in Centerville, Ohio, and have a 3-year-old daughter, Maya Katherine. (Judy loves being a grandma!) Their son, Michael, is a junior at Warner Southern College in Florida.
Daniel Kihm graduated from AU in 2003 with majors in Christian ministries and Bible and religion. He also received his MDiv from the School of Theology in 2007. Daniel is the senior pastor at Maple Grove Church of God in Anderson, a position he has held since 2005. While a student, Daniel was involved in student government, Tri-S, Novus Dux social club, and even served as “The Raven.” He and his wife, Christy, reside in Anderson, where they like to work on restoring their historic home.
Bryan S. Chapman is a 2003 graduate who received a BA in political science. While at Anderson, Bryan was involved in a number of activities on campus, including serving as a resident assistant and student body president. Bryan then went on to earn his law degree from the University of Missouri. He is now a corporate litigation attorney in Chicago at the law firm of Clausen Miller, PC. Bryan attends Wheaton Bible Church, where he teaches fourth-grade Sunday school and serves on the community group development team.
Alumni Council members are charged with carrying
out the work of the Alumni Association, including but not limited to:
• Serving as an advocate and representative for Anderson University and the Alumni Association in one’s circles of influence such as church and community.
• Assisting with the identification, cultivation, and involvement of local alumni in areas such as student recruitment, job placement, financial support, and more.
