Ensemble Auditions

Dear students:

Thank you for your interest in an Anderson University ensemble! Ensemble auditions are open to all students. All NEW students who have an interest in participating in an ensemble are required to audition. Auditions will be held Tuesday-Friday during the first week of classes. Returning students to any ensemble do not need to re-audition.

  • Choral Auditions: The following link has been prepared with all information needed for a choral audition. Choir Auditions - Prepared Piece, Sound Files for Prepared Piece, Instructions and Calendar. Audition forms and sign-up sheets will be available outside Dr. Richard Sowers' office in Fine Arts 141. Simply select the time that works best with your schedule. Questions about choral auditions should be directed to Dr. Richard Sowers at rlsowers@anderson.edu.
  • Wind Ensemble Auditions: If you registered for MUPF 0050, Unassigned Bands, you will receive a packet with music to prepare. The packets are mailed in early summer. If you did not register for Unassigned Bands you are still welcome to audition. Simply prepare a piece to play for the audition. All instruments are needed, particularly trumpet, trombone, and euphonium. Sign-up sheets will be available on the bulletin board in the lobby of the Music Building (Fine Arts complex). Simply select the time that works best with your schedule. Questions about Wind Ensemble auditions should be directed to Dr. Susan Taylor at sltaylor@anderson.edu.
  • Jazz Ensemble Auditions: To indicate your interest in auditioning, stop by Prof. John Huntoon’s office in Fine Arts 247. Auditions are held during the first Jazz Ensemble rehearsal. Questions about Jazz Ensemble auditions should be directed to Prof. John Huntoon at jrhuntoon@anderson.edu.
