Scholarships

For those entering 2013-14.

MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS
are awarded to first-time students based on SAT (CR+M) or ACT scores and to transfer students based on the transfer GPA. These awards are not competitive and do not require an application or interview. Scholarships are renewable annually for an additional three years.

FIRST TIME STUDENTS OR COLLEGE STUDENTS TRANSFERRING LESS THAN 12 HOURS:

A guaranteed $12,000 Anderson University Distinguished Student Scholarship renewable for an additional three years.** Your Distinguished Student Scholarship will be awarded in addition to your eligibility for other need-based aid from federal and state sources. All othersAnderson University is able to guarantee a level of grants and scholarships of at least $10,000. This guaranteed amount will include need-based aid from federal and state sources, should you be eligible, and therefore may not include any Anderson University funding. Filing the FAFSA*** is required.

Transfer Students

> 3.0A guaranteed $9,000 Anderson University Distinguished Student Scholarship renewable for an additional three years.** Your Distinguished Student Scholarship will be awarded in addition to your eligibility for other need-based aid from federal and state sources. Completion of the FAFSA*** is strongly encouraged.
> 2.5Anderson University is able to guarantee a level of grants and scholarships of at least $7,000. This guaranteed amount will include need-based aid from federal and state sources, should you be eligible, and therefore may not include any Anderson University funding. Filing of the FAFSA*** is required.


* If SAT and ACT tests are taken more than once, we will use the highest composite score from a single test date. (For the 2012-2013 school year, AU will use only the math and critical reading components of the SAT for admission decisions and for purposes of determining scholarship eligibility.)
** Must maintain a 3.0 grade point average.
*** FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is available at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Anderson University reserves the right to fund part or all of the stated guaranteed grant or scholarship levels from one or more of the University's named endowed scholarship funds.  The student's award letter, therefore, may show a lesser merit award than the stated guaranteed amount but, when combined with the endowed scholarship(s), the total amount awarded will equal or exceed the stated guaranteed award level.


 

Academic Honors Competitive Scholarship

  • $17,000 (does not combine with Distinguished Student Scholarship)
  • Scholarship deadline: January 25, 2013
  • ≥ 1250 SAT or ≥ 28 ACT along with a 3.5 GPA
  • By invitation only. Transfer students ineligible.

Church of God Minister's Scholarship

  • $1,000
  • Awarded to children of Church of God ministers
  • Student must attend full time and maintain satisfactory academic progress
  • Parents must be active in church service and listed in the Church of God Yearbook

Indiana Minority Teacher/Special Services Scholarship

  • Students may apply for the scholarship by completing an application available online at http://www.in.gov/ssaci/2342.htm and sending it to the Office of Student Financial Services at Anderson University.
  • Amounts will vary based on state funding and number of eligible applicants.

Indiana Nursing Scholarship

  • Students may apply for the scholarship by completing an application available online at http://www.in.gov/ssaci/2343.htm and sending it to the Office of Student Financial Services at Anderson University.
  • Amounts will vary based on state funding and number of eligible applicants.

Indiana Twenty-first Century Scholarship

  • Available to income-eligible 7th and 8th graders
  • Provides for an award in addition to the Frank O’Bannon Grant (HEA and FOC) to bring the total awards to $7,056, the current maximum for the 2011-2012 school year. Students already receiving the maximum Frank O’Bannon Grant of $7,056 therefore would not receive any additional award as a 21st Century Scholar.

Matching Church Scholarship

  • Up to $1,500 per student
  • Awarded to match scholarships given by your church
  • Student must be certified each year by the local church scholarship committee and meet established deadlines

Dr. James Earl Massey Intercultural Leadership Scholarship

  • Competitive scholarship - amounts typically range from ($2,000 - $4,000)
  • Available to first-time students (not transfers) with minimum high school GPA of 2.75 and who meet the additional qualifications as listed on the fact sheet
  • Annual review process required for renewing scholarship for up to an additional three years

Applications for the Dr. James Earl Massey Leadership Scholarship will be accepted on a rolling basis with top priority given to early applicants. Applications will be reviewed monthly in the spring, and notification of awards will be made after each review. The first round of review will be for applications received by May 3, 2013.
