Anderson University recently announced Tom Tanner, Senior Pastor of Wesleyan Fellowship Church in Marietta, GA, as the speaker during Spiritual Emphasis Week on campus, September 16-18, 2002. The Anderson University Campus Ministries office sponsors Spiritual Emphasis Week once each semester to offer students and the community an opportunity for worship and study with an off-campus speaker.
Before accepting pastoral duties at Wesleyan Fellowship, Tanner was the Director of the Wesley Foundation at the University of Georgia for 8 years where he saw the number of students involved in spiritual activities grow from about 50 to over 700. Tom says that most people are living their lives at a level much less than God has offered. He believes that his assignment from God is to call people into their "Kingdom Destiny." Tom is married to Melissa, his wife for 24 years. They have two children: Mason, 15 and Grace Ann, 12.
The public is cordially invited to hear Tanner several times during this week of services. The admission free services will be conducted on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 10 a.m. in Reardon Auditorium and again at 7 p.m. in Park Place Church of God. Also Tanner will speak on Wednesday, September 17, at 7 p.m. in Park Place Church of God; Thursday, September 18, at 10 a.m. in Reardon Auditorium and again at 7 p.m. in Park Place Church of God.
