Lauren Saenger, Admissions Counselor

My name is Lauren Saenger and I am privileged to be your Admissions Counselor at Anderson University! I am excited that you are considering Anderson in your college search process. I joined the AU admissions staff in August 2013, and am thrilled to be able to share my experiences with you. My time at Anderson University was filled with faith development, challenging coursework, lasting friendships, and many laughs along the way.

Educational Background

I graduated from AU in May 2013 with a degree in family science. One of the many aspects that I love about AU is the encouraging and supportive relationships with the faculty. My family science professors not only taught me knowledge within the field but helped me to develop and grow as an individual. While at AU, I was highly involved in Student Leadership. I was a Resident Assistant for 2 years, served on Camp Leadership Team for a summer, and volunteered with Special Olympics Track and Field. I was also involved in a couple of different Christian Ministries programs including the Christian Center (a local men’s homeless shelter) and College Mentors for Kids. Although I greatly lack in athletic ability I even was involved in a few intramurals including softball, flag football, basketball, and badminton.

Personal Bio

I was born in southern California but for the most part grew up in Westfield, Indiana. My family now lives in western New Jersey. I graduated from Westfield High School in 2009. Outside of the office, you will find me doing many different things. I love spending time outdoors, hiking, and exploring. I also enjoy working out. I have run the Indianapolis mini marathon and hope to run more marathons in the future. I love trying and learning new things and hope to learn something new every day for the rest of my life!

Favorite Things About AU

My absolute favorite thing about AU is the community. It is truly a unique mix of people that come together to grow, challenge one another, and make memories that will last a lifetime! I have really enjoyed the Campus Activities Board who plan and create fun, yet affordable events for the campus to participate in just about every weekend of the year. Some of my favorite CAB events include the square dance, a rooftop dance, and late night volleyball.

Other things I love about AU: the department of family science, the valley, intramurals, Rice Hall, the professors, Cheap Thrills, campus life and 10:07.

The College Search

When you first begin your college search, it may seem like a daunting and overwhelming task. I would encourage you to research and visit as many colleges as you can in order to determine if you would be a good fit for that school. Start your process early. And remember, I am here to help so if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. I am looking forward to getting to know you and helping you through this process!
