Stu was born and raised as a missionary kid in Taiwan. After relocating to the States for his high school years, he attended Asbury College (BS Art Educ.) and Asbury Seminary (Masters of Divinity). He has always enjoyed other cultures and in his adult years has traveled to various countries including Jamaica, Hong Kong, India, Philippines, England, Thailand, Nepal, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Before coming to work at AU in 2001, Stu served two years in Kathmandu, Nepal with Word Made Flesh. In addition to directing International Student Services at AU Stu also oversees the Campus Ministries program as well as co-directs the Peace and Conflict Transformation (PACT) program. During his time at AU he has also taught a variety of classes in the Department of Religious Studies as well as led a number of TRI-S trips. Stu earned a Doctor of Ministry from AU’s School of Theology in 2010. He is married to Christine and they have three children—Wesley (15), Luke (13), and Caroline (10). Apart from spending time with family and friends, Stu enjoys experiencing other cultures, documentaries, books, camping and soccer.
