Sigma Theta Tau International, Upsilon Gamma Chapter
Membership in Sigma Theta Tau is an honor conferred on baccalaureate and graduate nursing students and/or nursing leaders in the community who have demonstrated excellence in nursing.
The purpose of Sigma Theta Tau is to:
- recognize superior achievement
- recognize the development of superior achievement
- foster high professional standards
- encourage creative work
- strengthen commitment to the ideals and purposes of the profession
Membership requirements for graduate students include:
- Completion of a minimum of one-half of the required nursing curriculum
- Maintenance a 3.0 grade point average
- Be in the top 35 percent of the graduating class
- exceptions may be made at the discretion of the chapter's Governance Committee following the guidelines adopted by the International Board of Directors
